The “Trends in Higher Education” is a series of reports published by the College Board. Let’s take a look at the Trends in College Pricing, which provides data and insight on the prices charged by colleges and universities in 2017-18.
The findings in this report suggest that the price increases that occurred this year were neither larger than average nor small enough to suggest a new pattern. While the price of tuition hasn’t gone down, the average tuition price has increased at a lesser rate in the last five years (3% each year) than the previous decade, which saw annual price increases ranging from 5.7-13.3% between 2001-02 and 2011-12.
For more information how these prices have changed over time, across the country and by type of institution, read the full Trends in College Pricing here.
This report also includes data on:
- Changes in state funding levels
- Changing enrollment patterns
- Intuitional revenues and expenditures
- And much more!
