It’s a New Year tradition to set resolutions for the upcoming year. It’s also a tradition to break them. If your Resolution “To Do” List becomes a “Not Going to Happen” List, you’re not alone. By year’s end, 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail. Of those who make a resolution, about half of us are unsuccessful after the first six months and a quarter of us don’t even make it past the first week.
This year consider taking a different approach. Instead of setting drastic, unachievable goals, try aiming smaller. One word to be exact.
As we say goodbye to 2016 (where did the time go?) and welcome 2017, choose one word that you would like to focus on and carry with you over the next year. Simplify, Appreciate, Optimism, Relax, Recovery, Transform – just to name a few! The possibilities really are endless as you pick a word that encompasses what you’ll like to represent in 2017. Think of it as your theme for the upcoming year.
One word. It could be Joyful, Balanced, Forgiving, Healthy. What’s yours?
From your partners at TMS, we wish you a happy and safe New Year!
