Educause Enterprise IT Program

While a campus community reflects multiple academic foci, administrative services, and student cohorts, there is one common denominator that binds them together; the enterprise IT environment that they all rely on.  Enterprise IT is undergoing a fundamental shift from traditional premise based, monolithic systems, to a more agile management of cloud based services. Educause, in partnership with NACUBO, recognizes this fundamental shift and has created the Enterprise IT Program to help campus leadership navigate this transition.

The program brings together “Resources and community focused on the strategic value of enterprise IT in higher education today” and has three main constituencies:

  • IT professional’s responsible for core enterprise IT, typically CIOs and their direct reports
  • Commercial firms and collaborations that provide or support enterprise hardware, applications, and services
  • Associations like NACUBO whose membership is connected to the enterprise

The Enterprise IT Program is focused on four themes:

  • Effective Sourcing Strategies
  • Understanding and Defining Costs and Funding
  • Analytics and Business Intelligence
  • Business Process Management
